The problem

NovaMud ran its field operation on email. Engineers sent data back to the operations team message by message, with nothing capturing it, no way to report on it, and no efficient process underneath.

The back-and-forth created miscommunication and delays that rippled into operations, billing, and customer service. NovaMud knew its data was valuable. They just couldn't get it out of inboxes and spreadsheets and into a form they could use.

The solution

Working as an extension of NovaMud's team, SEQTEK built the platform their operation had been missing. A custom web application centralized data collection in the cloud and made it available to anyone who needed it, so field engineers enter their data and hit Send. Role-based reporting served each department, and automated billing removed manual entry and the errors that came with it.

Embedded, interactive Tableau reporting, color-coded and always current via SQL views and scheduled extracts, was built into the production app so people see the data in the tool they already use. SAP integration connected back-office and field data, and automated email and SMS notifications covered important events.

Finally, SEQTEK helped package the platform as a SaaS product NovaMud could offer to others in their industry, turning an internal tool into a product line.

The impact

Field engineers stopped chasing confirmations and started just submitting data. Reporting that once took weeks of wrangling spreadsheets now runs at the touch of a button, and NovaMud makes forecasting and modeling decisions with confidence on clean, real-time data.

Billing runs with far less manual effort and far fewer errors. NovaMud went from a company with a data problem to one with a product to sell.
