Rewriting a Legacy SCADA Platform with AI

The problem

Endurance Lift purchased a SCADA software product that monitors remote oil and gas production sites, integrating with rod pumps, electrical submersible pumps, and gas lift wells. The software had been written over a couple of decades, so much of it was old and hard to maintain.

To keep selling the product and serving customers well, the technology needed to look relevant again and be enhanced to handle what customers were asking for. Endurance Lift needed a partner who could modernize it without losing what already worked.

The solution

To understand the codebase quickly, even though much of the software was older, SEQTEK used Claude AI to analyze the product. With that understanding in hand, SEQTEK made the case that the older technology could be converted into a new version that looked relevant and could be extended as needed.

Once the initial analysis was done, the same AI tooling helped build out a feature-for-feature replacement as the minimum viable product, getting the software up and running as a straight replacement for the current system as fast as possible. That base became the platform for enhancements.

AI proved to be a strong multiplier of effectiveness, but the work depended on careful human direction. SEQTEK set the development context, methods, strategies, and conventions so that what the AI wrote followed proper, sound design. Customer feedback then drove an enhancement plan and a release schedule that extended the software with new features for Endurance Lift's clients.

The impact

SEQTEK delivered an effective replacement very quickly, giving Endurance Lift a usable product and a team that understood both the product and the customer.

From there, SEQTEK worked with Endurance Lift and their customers to understand what enhancements were needed and to build and deliver them on a steady release schedule. The result is a modern, maintainable platform that can keep growing with the business.
